Only losers think about the results
Uncle Bulcha is coming in with some semi-harsh advice.
One thing that I notice about the modern-day man is his insistence on focusing on specific results.
I mean, a lot of actions are driven behind specific results.
But since they’re so focused on the result, they don’t have enough mental energy in enjoying the moment and action.
For example, too many men get worked up in approaching women.
They are focused on not looking creepy and trying to get a number. But since they are fretting over this, they end being not confident and awkward.
What they should be doing is enjoying the moment in talking to a cute lady.
Not worrying about getting her name or number.
Just simply enjoying the moment with the lady.
And you know what, more times than not, women will give you their number because you made it a natural and comfortable conversation for them.
Same thing for sales.
When I’m cold calling people, I start getting nervous when I’m only thinking about making a sale or booking a meeting. And when the person picks up I freeze and come off as desperate.
But when I adopted the principle of not caring for the result, and simply embrace the moment in making a new business contact. I feel less pressured and am able to come off as a confident business professional.
This helps my prospective clients feel more comfortable around me and the idea of possibly doing business with me.
When you focus on a specific result, you are distracting yourself.
Instead of allowing your mind to be free, the desired result in your mind makes you rigid.
Bruce Lee once mentioned that you have to be formless like water.
For the longest time, I didn’t understand it, but after some years, I think I scratched the surface.
The way I see it is that when you hold no result in your head, your mind is free to adapt and quickly react to the situation. No matter what is thrown at you, as long as your mind is clear, you will be fine.
Life is going to throw a lot of shit at you. And I’m sure 2020 has been a prime example of that.
Yet, you can still fare well if your mind is free, and focus on the things that do matter.
So for the love of God.
The next time you are wanting a specific result badly, take a deep breath and realize that type of thinking is holding you back.
Remind yourself to enjoy the moment and carry on.
